These Content and Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") govern your use of the Frankli website and/or the Frankli mobile application, including all related features and services (collectively referred to as the "Platform"). The Platform is made available by Colab Services ("Colab Services", "we", "us", or "our"), a company operating under the laws of India. The terms "you" and "your" refer to any user accessing or using the Platform.
These Guidelines should be read together with the Frankli Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (collectively referred to as the "Terms"). Any capitalized terms used in these Guidelines have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms.
Colab Services may update or modify these Guidelines from time to time. The most recent version will always be made available on the Platform, and it is your responsibility to review these Guidelines periodically to remain informed about any updates.
The Frankli Platform connects users with people from across India and other parts of the world. Our community is diverse and encourages a wide variety of creative content. However, the Platform may also be accessed by audiences of different age groups, including young adults. To maintain a safe and respectful environment and to allow users to express themselves responsibly, Colab Services has established these guidelines and restrictions governing the use of the Platform.
Content Guidelines
Colab Services actively removes content that violates these Guidelines or applicable Indian laws. If such content is identified, Colab Services may remove the content or restrict access to the user's account. Users are encouraged to report any content that appears to violate these Guidelines.
While Colab Services supports creative freedom, content that is intended to cause harm, create discomfort, spread hate speech or abuse, promote violence or illegal activities, mislead users, or negatively affect the creator or artist ecosystem on the Platform is not permitted.
These Guidelines and the Platform's Terms apply equally to content that is synthetically or artificially generated using third-party tools or services. Users must clearly disclose and appropriately label or tag any synthetically or artificially generated content when sharing it on the Platform.
a. Adherence to Applicable Laws
All content uploaded, posted, commented on, or shared by you on the Frankli Platform must comply with the laws of India, including but not limited to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and all related rules and amendments. Users must not upload, post, comment on, or share content that threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, harms friendly relations with foreign states, disrupts public order, or incites violence. Content that insults other nations, encourages the commission of an offence, or interferes with the investigation of any offence is also strictly prohibited.
b. Nudity and Pornography
Frankli allows content that may include limited sexual imagery only when it serves artistic, documentary, educational, public awareness, humorous, or satirical purposes. However, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, or nude content such as images or videos displaying private parts, content depicting sexual activities, content that invades another person's privacy (including bodily privacy), sextortion, revenge pornography, bestiality, zoophilia, content that exploits or endangers individuals, content related to paedophilia or child pornography, and any content that is indecent, immoral, or related to rape, sexual objectification, non-consensual acts, or molestation is strictly prohibited on the Platform.
c. Harassment or Bullying
Frankli strongly condemns any form of harassment or bullying. Examples of prohibited content include posting abusive language, curse words, morphed images, or malicious recordings targeting another individual; objectifying, insulting, or harassing someone based on gender, race, ethnicity, caste, colour, disability, religion, or sexual orientation; making unwanted sexual advances or engaging in sexual misconduct; extorting or blackmailing individuals; attempting to contact users through alternative accounts after being blocked; sharing someone's image or personal information without their consent with the intention of harassing, distressing, or endangering them; posting false information about an individual with the intention of causing harm. Discussions involving critical commentary about public figures may be allowed where they comply with the Terms and these Guidelines.
d. Intellectual Property
Users must not post content on the Frankli Platform that is not original or that has been copied from an individual or organization that owns the intellectual property rights without proper authorization. Any content that violates the intellectual property rights of third parties may be removed, and strict action may be taken against repeat violators. When resharing content within the Platform, you must not remove attributions, watermarks, or original captions. Users must avoid using audio or music in violation of these Guidelines. Colab Services reserves the right to disable audio, remove content, or restrict sharing if use is inconsistent with these Guidelines or applicable laws. Fair use exceptions may apply for criticism, commentary, parody, satire, or teaching; users are encouraged to obtain proper permissions and provide appropriate credit.
e. Violence
Violence includes any content that may cause discomfort due to its graphic or disturbing nature, including content that glorifies violence or suffering, incites violent behaviour, expresses intent to commit violence, depicts physical violence, or shows cruelty toward animals. Content that promotes dangerous or illegal activities, praises or glorifies terrorism or criminal organizations, or provides instructions on creating or using explosives, weapons, or firearms is strictly prohibited. Educational, informational, or newsworthy content relating to violence may be allowed where appropriate. Fictional portrayals of violence (e.g. in storytelling, entertainment, or martial arts demonstrations) may be allowed provided they comply with these Guidelines.
f. Hate Speech and Propaganda
Content that promotes violence, incites violent behaviour, or creates hostility against an individual or group based on religion, race, caste, ethnicity, community, nationality, disability, disease, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity is strictly prohibited. Content that spreads hatred, discrimination, or propaganda, or that attempts to portray individuals or groups as inferior or promote enmity between communities (especially on the basis of religion or caste) with the intention of provoking violence is not permitted. Users must refrain from posting inflammatory or offensive commentary that insults religious figures, deities, symbols, or emblems. Content that raises awareness or critically discusses hate-related topics may be allowed where the intent is clearly educational or informative.
g. Abuse, Self-Injury, or Suicide
Frankli does not permit content that depicts, promotes, or encourages suicide, self-injury, or any form of self-harm, or that involves physical, mental, sexual, or psychological abuse, maltreatment, or neglect. Content that glorifies or provides instructions on self-harm, or that mocks, insults, or targets victims or survivors of abuse, domestic violence, or trauma is strictly prohibited. Content that aims to provide support, awareness, resources, or recovery experiences may be allowed where the intent is supportive and responsible.
h. Illegal Activities
Frankli maintains zero tolerance for content that advocates, promotes, or supports illegal activities. Prohibited content includes organized crime, criminal activities, terrorism, violence, kidnapping, promotion or sale of weapons, firearms, explosives, illegal goods or services, drugs, or controlled substances, solicitation of sexual services, content that disrespects national emblems (including the Indian national flag), content that harms or exploits children, and content encouraging money laundering, illegal gambling, or other unlawful financial practices. Posting tutorials or instructions for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Impersonating another individual or organization and spreading false or misleading information for gain is not permitted. Content containing malware, viruses, or code designed to damage or disrupt systems is prohibited.
i. Non-Consensual Personal Content
Content that impersonates another individual or misuses another person's identity is prohibited. Users must not post personal content, images, videos, or information of another person without their explicit consent. Posting someone's personal or intimate images or videos without permission is strictly prohibited. Revealing someone's personal data or sensitive personal information (e.g. contact details, passwords, addresses, financial information, sexual orientation, biometric data, government ID details, healthcare information, private or intimate images or videos) is strictly prohibited. Threatening to reveal or misuse such information is considered harassment.
j. Spam
Content that misleads users about its origin, promotes false advertisements, or includes fraudulent or deceptive information is considered spam and is prohibited. Commercial spam that promotes goods or services in a misleading or manipulative manner is not allowed. Posting the same content repeatedly to annoy users or aggressively promote goods or services is prohibited. Users must not use artificial or manipulative methods to generate traffic or artificially increase followers, likes, views, comments, or shares. Promotional content should be shared in a genuine and transparent manner. Misleading or deceptive links, or links to malicious websites (e.g. phishing, malware), are strictly prohibited.
k. Misinformation
Content that knowingly spreads false information, misleading claims, hoaxes, or fabricated propaganda is prohibited. Users must not post information that intentionally misleads the public, damages someone's reputation, or falsely represents facts. Manipulated media (altered text, audio, images, or videos, including via AI) that may harm individuals, threaten public safety, manipulate elections, promote social hostility, or intentionally offend religious sentiments is not allowed. Satire or parody may be permitted provided it is clearly identifiable and does not mislead users into believing it is factual.
Community Guidelines
When using Frankli, users are expected to follow certain behavioural standards. Content should remain relevant to the context of the post, including the caption and tags. Creating fake profiles that impersonate individuals or organizations in a misleading manner is prohibited (exceptions may apply for clearly labelled fan pages, community pages, satire or parody accounts of public figures that do not deceive users). Users must maintain respectful behaviour and avoid harassment, abusive language, or actions that create an uncomfortable or hostile environment. Content that promotes or glorifies illegal activities will not be tolerated. Repeated violations may result in Colab Services restricting or terminating access and preventing creation of new accounts.
Platform Security
Users are encouraged to report any content or activity that violates these Guidelines using the reporting features available on the Platform. Reports are reviewed, and if violations are confirmed, appropriate actions including content removal or account restrictions may be taken. For content that does not violate the rules but is undesirable to individual users, users may choose to unfollow or block the relevant accounts.
Intermediary Status and Review of Content
Frankli operates as an intermediary under applicable Indian laws. Colab Services does not control or pre-screen the content posted by users and is not responsible for user behaviour on or off the Platform. Responsibility for the content shared on the Platform lies with the users themselves. Our liability is limited to the extent provided under applicable laws in India. If content is reported as violating these Guidelines, the Platform may review it and take necessary enforcement actions.
Grievance Officer
Frankli has appointed a Grievance Officer to address concerns related to privacy, data protection, and Platform usage. Users may contact the Grievance Officer of Colab Services by sending an email to support@frankli.in for any complaints, queries, or grievances related to the Platform. Requests will be reviewed and addressed within a reasonable timeframe as required under applicable laws.
Right to Challenge
If content posted by a user is removed from Frankli following a report or moderation review, the user may be notified of the removal and the reasons for such action. If the user believes that the content was removed incorrectly, they may submit an appeal through the Platform or contact support@frankli.in to request a review. The Platform may reassess the content and determine whether the removal was appropriate.
Violations of these Guidelines may also expose users to civil or criminal liability under applicable Indian laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the Information Technology Act 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, the Copyright Act 1957, the Trade Marks Act 1999, and other relevant legislation. Colab Services may cooperate with law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities when required by law, and users are responsible for any legal consequences arising from their actions on the Platform.
